The most important thing when it comes to playing poker is to keep your opponents from telling what your game is. This means that it is essential for you to keep your playing strategy a secret. Some of the most experienced poker players can almost always tell what their opponents’ strategies are only by looking at the way they play a hand, or at the way they make a bet.

 There can be a lot of clues that can give you away, if you are not that experienced at poker, so you have to be very careful when it comes to the way you play your cards. For instance, professionals can build your player profile only by analyzing the way you look at your cards, or the way you keep your hands and also by watching every move you make. A good poker player is a person who knows how to use every little detail in his advantage, so there are some things you have to do in order to avoid being “read” by your opponents.

 First of all, your opponents shouldn’t be able to tell anything about your hand by analyzing your reactions; second, you must always be careful when betting, so you don’t allow them discover your betting pattern. Also, you must not brag or demean your hand for they can become alert and they can realize that things aren’t the way you are picturing them.
