Types of Poker Tournaments
Poker tournament refers to a type of poker where players enter the game with an equal amount of money that is called the buy-in. All the players get the same amount of chips and the stake gets raised periodically throughout the game. Players are eliminated from the game once their chips are done, and the distribution of the money is made according to the order in which the players were taken out of the game.
These are a few types of poker tournaments:
-The freeze-out tournament, where the players are eliminated for good and the big pot goes to the one player that hasn’t been eliminated.
-The re-buy tournament allows players to rejoin the game after losing all their chips.
-The multiple table tournaments enable up to thousands of players to confront at the same table.
-The single table tournament allows only a few players at the same table.
-The sit and go tournament starts when a certain number of players have entered the game.
-The satellite tournament is a type of poker game where players qualify in order to play in bigger tournaments, and the buy-ins for the satellite are smaller than those that must be paid for the later one.
-The freeroll tournament is a sponsored one that doesn’t imply a buy-in and it is open to all the players.
