PokerStars Zoom Poker FAQ

Have you ever wished you could play online poker faster without having 20+ poker tables? Zoom Poker is the lighting fast poker game where you can play upwards of 250+ hands per hour on a single poker table, which is about 3X faster than normal games. PokerStars launched Zoom Poker in March 2012 by releasing a real-money beta version of Zoom. Zoom Poker is apart of the PS software suite, so you’ll need to install PokerStars to your computer (Windows/Mac) or mobile device (iOS/Android) first.

What is Zoom Poker?

Zoom Poker is the fastest way to play online poker because of the way the downloadable PokerStars software package is set-up. Your 1st step is clicking on the tab in the PokerStars lobby for Zoom Poker. You can see the list of open Zoom poker tables after clicking on the tab. Click on the game you want to play in and a pop-up screen will open. You can choose how much money you want to sit down at the table with and you can select how many tables you want to play at once. You can join up to 4 Zoom poker tables at once.

In your 1st hand you’ll most likely be the big blind, but the software ensures everyone is the small/big blind a fair amount of the time and it isn’t random or anything. The “Zoom” part of “Zoom Poker” begins now that you’re seated at a table. When the action is on you in a hand you can click on “Fold” to move to a new table and start a new hand. You can also click on the “Fast Fold” button as soon as the cards are dealt or anytime afterwards to instantly move to a new poker table. You’re able to be moved to a new table instantly with the same stakes/limits due to the huge player pool. On average there are 200 players in a pool and that easily allows new hands to be started instantly once enough people fold their hands.

In some cases you may want to stay at a table once you’ve folded to see what happens in the hand. In order to watch the rest of a hand before being moved to a new table you need to click “CTRL” at the same time as you click on the fold button. The only two Zoom Poker games at PokerStars are Holdem and Omaha Hi generally. There are Zoom tables for Omaha Hi/Lo and Five Card Draw, but they rarely have any players in the pool and therefore don’t expect to be able to play them very often.

Zoom Poker table stakes range based on the poker game you wish to play. The Zoom Poker Holdem tables start at $.01/$.02 and go up to $2.50/$5.00. The Omaha tables that run Zoom Poker start at $.01/$.02 as well, but only go up to $1/$2 currently. Being able to play over 1000/hands per hour is excellent for grinders and a great way to earn loyalty points. Players will earn the same number of loyalty points on the Zoom Poker tables as a traditional table, so there is no disadvantage in playing Zoom. Playing against new opponents all the time can be difficult because you won’t have a read on them unless you take notes. The best way to have an edge on the competition is to utilize one of the poker odds tools that are compatible with Zoom Poker.

Zoom Poker is already the most popular fast-fold poker game and it’s growing fast. Most poker players like the idea of playing more hands per hour because as long as they can maintain the same win rate they’ll end up making much more profit.
