PokerStars Revamps
Pokerstars have recently been revamping their site with a lot of focus on utilising the social media section offing player direct integration with their programme and there facebook and twitter accounts, this would make things appear as if PokerStars are planning on making a push to exploit that market. Added to which they have been striving to make themselves out as the best uk poker site, in fairness that isn’t a ridiculous claim, and using the social media sector is certainly a good way to get yourself out to a wider audience as well as giving people a much appreciated new feature.
Black Friday
Following “Black Friday” when the US government indicted all the big players in their crusade against online poker, it is absolutely paramount that the company picks up some new players somewhere to make up for the shortfall, granted out of the casualties PokerStars have been most fortunate benefiting from the failure of their main competition and benefiting from their improved reputation thanks to handling the pay-outs of US players swiftly and efficiently and complying with the US government. Fortunately for them the strict licencing regulations on the Isle of Man made sure that they had to keep player funds separate from company assets unlike Full Tilt Poker.
So it looks like Pokerstars may be on to a winner, with a lot of players potentially doing their social media marketing for them and with their main competition discredited or unable to operate they may not be just the best uk poker site in a few months, but the only major place to play poker in the uk left on the market.
